Master William V. Aguiar first attained international acclaim and recognition by his performance of the extremely dangerous "Bow and Arrow - Block and Parry" technique. From ancient times, famous fighting arts masters and Japanese Samurai, who were great warriors, have done themselves bodily harm in the fearless challenge of blocking and parrying an oncoming cudgel, lance or arrow. To block or parry an oncoming arrow in flight is an extremely dangerous and difficult feat. It was considered by ancient masters (excluding mortal combat) to be a warriors ultimate test of courage, sight, muscular coordination, reflexes, confidence, character and fearlessness. This level is possible when unification of Mind, Body and Spirit has been achieved. Master Aguiar, with the coaching and encouragement of his mentor and Master, Count Dante, performed, this ancient "Death-challenge" against a 50-pound-pull fiberglass "Bear Bow" within the incredible distance of less than 28 feet. Master Aguiar's achievement stands unequaled before or since as the arrows in flight were still in what is known as the "archers paradox". During that critical and dangerous time when an arrow is not yet in stable flight, Master Aguiar parried two arrows and snapped a third in mid-air.
As a young man, Master Aguiar discovered his life's calling. Uninspired by school sports, he was drawn to the world of fighting arts. Years of study and extensive travel prepared him to seek out the Worlds Deadliest Fighting Arts Master, Count Dante, founder of the World Karate Federation; he was tested, and ultimately accepted as Count Dante's apprentice and protégé. Shortly before his death in April of 1975, Count Dante announced his retirement from the arts and named Master Aguiar as his successor; designated him Second Patriarch of (the House of Dante, and Guardian of its covenant, archives, copyrights and holdings; as well as the President and Director of the World Karate Federation and Supreme Grand Master of the Black Dragon Fighting Society. Among his achievements and Black Belt credits are: 10th Dan Black (Red) Belt & Gold Sash of the 'Dan -Te (Deadly Hands) System of Fighting", 6th Dan Chuan Fa Kempo (Kung Fu) 10th Dan Minna Jiu-Jitsu under Frank Kovaks -- 5th Dan Yawara Ryu Jiu-Jitsu -- 4th Dan Chung Do Kwan / Tae Kwan Do (Korean Karate) -- Shorie - Goju (Okinawan Karate) -- as well as Black Belts in Ju -Te Aikido / bo-ki-bo, and 6th Kodokan Judo under Phil Porter.
As a contributing editor and subject of numerous feature articles in most major martial arts magazines and survival publications, Master Aguiar co-produced with Count Dante two epic instructional films and video tapes, "DANCE of DEATH" and "POISON HAND." He completed the syllabus of the "Dan-Te System of Fighting" which he began with Master Dante before the Count's death, and has recently revised and updated this world renowned "Poison Hand" text of the Black Dragon Fighting Society, World's Deadliest Fighting Secrets.
